The Surging Waves (沧浪之音) are an experimental rock band based in Suzhou, China.

 

Since foundation in Spring 2011, the band have been rocking out venues such as Mao Livehouse and Yuyintang in Shanghai and Wave Livehouse in Suzhou regularly and the second album, "Subway Surfing" was released in April 2014.

 

The band have also headlined festivals such as Suzhoubury 2013 and Wavestock 2012.  In 2014 they won the City Weekend Editor’s Pick Award for Suzhou’s best band. Their third album 'Harmonic Rush' was released on 30 May 2015.

  

The Surging Waves sound is an experimental soup with a rock 'n' roll stock, a spoonful or three of funk with a twist of jazz, and even a sprinkle of folk added in to sweeten the taste.
